We run The Local Epicurean and For Crêpe Sake — two distinctive locations serving companies, teams, and celebrations across the Greater Lansing area. You will find For Crêpe Sake in the heart of downtown East Lansing on Grand River, and The Local Epicurean nearby on Grand River, near Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.
The Local Epicurean is a hands-on culinary experience venue offering private cooking experiences, corporate events, and a location available for private events and venue rental. For Crêpe Sake is a lively crêperie and café, and an event space that also caters, on-site or off.
We help companies, teams, and hosts bring people together — a hands-on team-building experience, a private space for a client dinner or celebration, a venue to host your own event, or great food brought to your office. One team plans and runs all of it.

Bring your team together
Instructor-led and fully hands-on: your team cooks a multi-course meal together, side by side — everyone makes each course, plates their own, then sits down to the meal they made. It's the same experience whether you're a team of two or ninety. No trust falls, no slideshows. A team becomes a table.
Pick the format that fits your group — a collaborative Three Course Dinner Bonding, a friendly Mystery Basket Challenge, a Food for Thought competition, or the Team Favorite combination. It's always private: you come with the team you chose, never seated in with strangers, and it runs as a daytime offsite or an evening out.

Hosting a group — clients, a celebration, a team milestone? You've got two ways to do it. Book a hosted experience — a cooking experience for your group, or a catered celebration we run end to end. Or simply rent the space as your event venue and make the event your own.
Both The Local Epicurean and For Crêpe Sake are available for private events and venue rental — you don't have to book a cooking class to use a location for your event. You choose the space; we help with the rest.

Common questions
Is it private, or will we be seated with another group?
Private. Almost every experience is just your group — you come with the team, clients, or family you chose, and the space is yours. You're never seated in with another party.
What group sizes can you handle?
We've hosted everything from a couple of people to teams of 90 for a hands-on experience, and catered on-site events up to 250. Every group gets the same hands-on experience — whether you're 2 or 90 — so tell us your headcount and we'll build around it.
Can we come in the evening, or during the workday?
Both. Corporate groups often book a weekday or daytime offsite, and evenings work well too. Tell us what fits your team's calendar and we'll find a time.
Can you accommodate dietary needs and allergies?
Always. We accommodate dietary needs and adjust the menu accordingly — dietary restrictions, allergies, preferences. Just let us know when you book.
How far do you travel for catering?
We cater across the greater Lansing area. Tell us where you are and we'll confirm we can reach you.
How far ahead should we book?
It varies a lot with the season. For the busy stretches — the holidays, graduation — it's best to plan well ahead; some companies book their holiday parties six to nine months out. Other times we can accommodate a group with as little as a week's notice. The earlier you reach out, the more options you'll have.
